The long-running and well-known online role-play video game franchise RuneScape is coming to tabletop gaming with two brand new games set to debut later in the year. The developer of video games and the publisher of RuneScape, Jagex, has collaborated with tabletop gaming giant Steamforged Games to create both tablestop and a board gaming book for roleplaying games in the RuneScape's rich and imaginative universe of Gielinor.

The two games will launch in 2022, with the board game going live through Kickstarter in 2022, and TTRPG coming straight to the stores. The games will be based on experiences, characters, and locations in RuneScape's vast history of 21 years, with the board game having one to five players on quest-based quests through Gielinor.

They'll make and improve their equipment, upgrade their characters, cook special recipes, interact with NPCs and test their skills exploring various regions of the globe, along with an array of exciting side quests designed to divert and keep them entertained on the journey.

The TTRPG will consist of a lavishly illustrated, hardback core book containing guidelines for players to play a RuneScape tabletop roleplaying games, in which they can build personal characters.
