You could take sprites from the 2d simpsons games for nes, snes, and genesis.

Just check the last day he went online .. and otherwise he would have replyd on the sprites and checked this forum 2.. Anyway, me and Homer are gone try and startup the actual creation of the game :) Just read my thread and youl see more. Feel free to help. Ive olso been sending some PM's to people who were intrested in helping before.. Just hoping they will reply now :)
